Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department, Odisha, has told Utkal University that the state government won’t provide funds to the institution to set up smart classrooms.
“The decision for establishment of smart classrooms and related procurement actions are internal matters of the university. Since the university has got huge accumulated fund, the expenditure for smart classrooms should be met from such accumulated fund,” Additional Secretary Birendra Korkora wrote to the Registrar, Utkal University.
The Higher Education Department also advised the university to avoid wasteful expenditure in the name of smart classrooms and that money should not be spent on creating facilities/provisions which were not going to be used much in the teaching-learning process.
