Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Smriti Irani is scheduled to arrive in Odisha on Saturday for fourth leg of electioneering to bolster the electoral prospects of BJP candidates.
“She will hold public meetings in Kujanga (Paradip), Aul (Kendrapada) and Remuna (Balasore) and talk about Subhadra Yojana of the BJP,” party vice president Golak Mohapatra informed on Friday.
The BJP has decided to provide each woman member of a family will get a cash voucher of Rs 50,000 within two years of BJP government assuming power in the state under the Subhadra Yojana. National BJP president JP Nadda had earlier called upon members of the party’s mahila morcha (women’s wing) to give maximum publicity to the scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to visit the state on May 29 and address two election rallies in Balasore and Kendrapada Parliamentary constituencies.
Polling will take place in Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Jagatsinghpur Lok Sabha constituencies and the Assembly segments within them on June 1.
