Smrutisree Singh has been able to tickle taste buds with her creative recipes after proving herself worthy of MasterChef India Season-6 apron, making good of the second chance given to her in the cooking reality show.
Her preparation of Odisha’s traditional dish, ‘Nadia Kadali Kakara’, has now earned her a place on the ‘Grand Dish’ wall of MasterChef India.
The judges – Ranveer Brar, Vikas Khanna, and Vineet Bhatia- of the cooking reality showered praises on the 26-year-old for the traditional sweet deep-fried cake and were unanimous in their decision to place her on the ‘Grand Dish’ wall.
“This is not perfect, this dish is ‘waah ji waah’, perfect balance,” Chef Bhatia told Smrutisree after tasting the delicacy from Odisha.
Smrutisree is a hotel management graduate from the Institute of Hotel Management, Bhubaneswar, and currently working as an assistant general manager at Hotel Emerald.
Expressing happiness on her daughter’s success, Rita said, “This acknowledgment will serve as an inspiration for her to grow further.”
Earlier in the show, Smrutisree had said, “I deserve the MasterChef India apron because I want the world to taste Odia cuisine and know more about Odisha.” And she has kept her word.
