Bhubaneswar: The officers of Air Intelligence Unit, Customs, on Monday seized smuggled gold weighing 215 gram from a passenger at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Odisha capital.
Acting on a tip-off, the officers detained a passenger, a native of Madurai in Tamil Nadu, after he arrived here from Kuala Lumpur in an AirAsia flight and seized 48 gold pieces worth Rs 9 lakh concealed in his checked-in bag and handbag.
The detained passenger was later taken for interrogation.
