In a bizarre incident, a man at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district found a cobra while unpacking a parcel with household items that he had received.
He informed the forest department about the snake, which was rescued and later released into Kucheibudhi reserve forest, sources said.
The parcel reached the residence of S Muthukumaran, a native of Vijayawada who is currently residing in Mayurbhanj, from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh via ‘Agarwal Packers & Movers’ on August 9.
The parcel had household items and a 3-4 feet long Cobra.
It is suspected that the snake might have entered the parcel during transportation or storage.
