Snake Rescued From Odisha Forest Minister’s Residence In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A five-foot-long snake was rescued on Saturday from the government quarters allotted to Odisha’s Forest and Environment Minister Ganesh R Singhkhuntia in Unit-6 area of Bhubaneswar.

Sources said the snake was first spotted by some staff members when renovation work was in progress in the building.

On seeing the large reptile near the door, the staff members got scared and some of them informed the Snake Helpline.

Soon after getting information about the snake, a team from Snake Helpline including its General Secretary Suvendu Mallik rushed to the scene to rescue the reptile.

The snake, identified as a harmless rat snake, was safely captured and later released into its natural habitat.
