Bhubaneswar: Two snatching cases were reported in the city on Thursday.
According to reports, one Ambika Sahu of Chari Chhak area near Konark in Puri district had recently come to her paternal house at Banamalipur village on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar.
On Thursday, Ambika was going to a temple at the village with her minor son to perform Makar Sankranti puja when she was intercepted by two bike-borne miscreants. They snatched the gold chain from her neck and fled the area.
Following a complaint, Balipatna police rushed to the village and begun an investigation. The incident was recorded on a CCTV camera nearby, police said.
In another incident, an old woman was on way to her house from a market at Ghatikia when three youths came in a bike and snatched two gold chains from her neck near Vipul Gardens apartment.
The woman later lodged a complaint at Khandagiri police station.
