Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police busted a snatching gang in Odisha capital and arrested two persons in this connection on Sunday.
The accused persons have been identified as Kanha Lenka and a minor boy. Lenka is a resident of Laxmisagar here.
According to sources, Bidyutprabha Panda and her mother was on their way to Paramount Club near Kalpana Square here on Sunday evening when the motorcycle-borne duo snatched away their purse.
Some local youths apprehended the duo and thrashed them. They also alerted the police.
On being informed, police reached the spot and arrested the duo. A country-made gun, Rs 7,000 in cash and a motorcycle were seized from their possession.
Lenka was forwarded to court and the minor produced before Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
