Bhubaneswar: Eminent horticultural scientist Prof (Dr) Debi Prasad Ray, who was Chancellor of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) Deemed to be University, passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
A former Vice-Chancellor of the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Ray breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the IMS and Sum Hospital.
“We deeply mourn his passing away and pray to the Almighty that the noble soul may rest in peace at the heavenly abode,” SOA said in a statement.
Prof. (Dr.) Ray was previously two time Vice-Chancellor of the OUAT in Bhubaneswar. He has taken over as SOA Chancellor in March 2022.
