Bhubaneswar: Voice of SOA Community 90.4, the community radio of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here, conducted a narrowcasting programme on the impact of climate change on the university campus recently.
Narrowcasting is the broadcast of a programme to a localized or specialised audience.
More than 800 students participated in the event where the why and how of climate change were discussed alongside several cultural programmes to pass on the message. The programmes included flash mobs, songs, dances and skits relating to the subject.
The resource persons included Abhishek Mani, who attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference –COP27—held in Egypt last month, founder-Director of Sattvic Soul Foundation Satyabrata Samal and climate activist and founder of Ceiba Green Solutions Neelima Mishra, who informed and educated the youth on climate change while emphasizing on its impact.
“Students are the strength and future of this world. When they understand the problem, half of our battle will be won,” said station director (incharge) of SOA Community Radio 90.4, Honey Patnaik said.
