Bhubaneswar: The Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University and Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form a nucleus for research and promoting excellent quality manpower in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, biological sciences and allied areas.
“The scope of the MoU between the two institutions will provide for enhancing within the country the availability of highly qualified manpower in the areas of mutual cooperation and research,” Vice-Chancellor of SOA, Prof. Amit Banerjee.
Prof. Banerjee and Vice-Chancellor of ICT, Mumbai, Prof. Ganapati D Yadav signed the MoU here on Thursday.
The MoU, which will remain in force for five years, would encourage interactions between the scientists, research fellows, faculty members and students of both the organizations through exchange of personnel, organization of joint conferences and seminars, expert lectures by professors of ICT and vice-versa, joint guidance of student projects and provision for research scholars from either institution to enroll for their PhD, he said.
Both ICT, who have opened a campus in Bhubaneswar last March, and SOA would also share their important research facilities to promote academic and research interaction, Prof. Banerjee said adding both organizations would permit the exchange of software and other materials and components developed in-house in the areas of cooperation and access to library facilities to scientists, researchers, faculty members and students.
