SOA Students Win Prize For Innovative Project

Bhubaneswar: A project designed to assist the visually disabled in walking on the road and locating things has won the second prize in the ITC Infotech Codeathon 2018 held in Bengaluru. The device has been designed by students of SOA Deemed University.

The students, representing SOA’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology, were given 24 hours to make the project. They used image processing, neural network, computer vision and natural language processing to complete it.

The prize comprises a cash component of Rs One Lakh. The competition, organised by ITC Infotech, had 871 teams in the field of which only 39 were shortlisted for the final round. The SOA team included Aditya Kumar Sharma, Subham Sinha, Subhrajit Prusty and Sibasish Tripathy.
