Mumbai: Celebrity couple Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya, who will be featuring together on the cover page of Vogue magazine’s April issue, shared how their love story began.
Sobhita revealed she was going through the questions in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Instagram when a fan’s query grabbed her attention and made her follow Naga Chaitanya.
“I was sifting through the questions when I saw one that asked, ‘Why aren’t you following Chay Akkineni?’ I was like, ‘What?’ So, I went to his profile and saw that he was following only around 70 people, including me. I was a tiny bit flattered, so I followed him back,” the actress said.
Eventually, they started chatting through their DMs and, in April 2022, Chaitanya booked a flight to Mumbai for their first date.
“There was no mic drop. It just happened very organically,” said Sobhita.
The lovebirds got married in December 2024 at Hyderabad’s iconic Annapurna Studios, in the presence of close friends and family members.
Naga Chaitanya, who split his first wife Samantha Ruth Prabhu in October 2021, confirmed his relationship with Sobhita by sharing their engagement photos in August 2024.
On the work front, Naga was last seen in ‘Thandel’ and Sobhita in Dev Patel’s ‘Monkey Man.’
