Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday reiterated that social distancing is the most effective deterrent against the spreading of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Highlighting the importance of social distancing through a comparative analysis chart, the government said that a person adhering to 75 per cent social distancing guidelines is likely to infect .625 persons in five days and an infected person will in turn infect 2.5 people in 30 days.
Similarly, a person adhering to 50 per cent social distancing guidelines will infect 2.5 persons in five days who in turn will infect 15 people in 30 days.
But a person not following the guidelines will infect 2.5 persons in five days who in turn will infect 406 people in 30 days.
