Sambalpur: In yet another case of social media friendship going disarray, a boy faces a police case for allegedly blackmailing a girl in the district.
According to a complaint filed at Burla police station, the 18-year-old girl of the town in the district had started chatting with a boy of Subranapur on Facebook around a year and half back. Their chatting grew into friendship in due course and they started talking on video calls.
During the video calls at times, they also talked in foul language which were recorded by the boy. After some time, they broke up due to some reasons.
Following the break-up, some friends of the boy started blackmailing the girl telling her to continuing the friendship with him, failing which they threatened to circulate the screen shots of their obscene talks in the social media.
Harassed by the boy’s friends, the girl filed the complaint with the police and the cyber cell. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
