Bhubaneswar: The Shambhavi Puraskar 2021 was conferred on Khirod Sahoo at a ceremony here on Monday to mark 10 years of Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation’s (BIPF’s) CSR journey.
The award, instituted by BIPF in 2014 to recognize those who “act as agents of social change and motivate others to follow in their footsteps,” carries a memento, a citation and cash award of Rs 2,50,000.
Sahoo received the award from Paramita Panda, Trustee of BIPF and Vice-Chairman & Managing Director of UMSL Ltd, for his selfless service and positive change that he brought into the lives of many people residing in Odisha’s Angul district.
Sahoo, who started benevolent service at the age of 12, has organised numerous blood donation camps to support hundreds of thalassemia-afflicted children.
Available 24×7 for any assistance, Sahoo has also devoted himself to educate younger generation and increase awareness on health issues.
Nibedita Lenka gets Jury Commendation Certificate
BIPF, which also recognizes individuals who stand out as an example of courage and are the pillars of strength to the community, presented the ‘Jury Commendation Certificate 2021’ to Nibedita Lenka.
Nibedita, who received the award from Aurobindo Behera, Trustee BIPF and retired IAS officer, supports over 100 meritorious students and works relentlessly for underprivileged children, troubled teenagers, abused women and homeless individuals.
