Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Thursday apprehended technical assistant of Soil Testing Laboratory at Chief District Agriculture Officer in Jharsuguda, Ganesh Kalser, while allegedly accepting Rs 50,000 as bribe.
According to a Vigilance release, he had demanded the illegal gratification from a laboratory attendant (contractual worker) to process file for facilitating continuance of his contractual job. The entire bribe money was recovered from him and seized.
While a case has been registered against him, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to Kalser to ascertain whether he has accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
