New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has issued a second executive order while being in the custody of Enforcement Directorate in connection with the liquor policy case.

Health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj informed about Kejriwal’s directive to him at a presser here on Tuesday. “Despite being in ED custody, the Delhi CM is worried about the health of the people of Delhi,” he said.

He further said that the Delhi CM has directed him to take steps to resolve the issues faced by Delhi’s people.

“The CM has received information that people are facing difficulties in the tests carried out at the Mohalla clinics and also about unavailability of free medicines in some of the Delhi hospitals and Mohalla clinics. He has directed me to solve these issues,” he said.

Bharadwaj added the CM is thinking about the well-being of the people of the national capital even when jailed.

On March 24, Delhi Minister Atishi had informed about Kejriwal’s first executive order from the ED lock-up for the areas facing water shortage. He directed the city’s Water Department to deploy tankers in the affected areas to strengthen water supply with the national capital bracing for a scorching summer. He also suggested the minister to seek the help of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, if needed.

“When this document came to me along with his direction, I had tears in my eyes. If there’s anyone who thinks about the bread-and-butter issues of the people, their problems related to water supply and cleaning of sewer lines, even under such extreme duress, it is Arvind Kejriwal,” the AAP leader had said.

The federal agency has taken cognisance of the matter and has initiate a probe to ascertain if these directions were in line with the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court’s order issued to the ED and CM during his custody period till March 28.  His wife Sunita Kejriwal and personal assistant Bibhav Kumar are allowed to meet him every day for half an hour between 6 and 7 pm, apart from his lawyers for another half hour. “Neither any computer nor paper has been given to Arvind Kejriwal from the ED headquarters…We are probing this,” NDTV reported quoting sources.

The ED, the sources said, will investigate if due processes were followed during these meetings. If any aberrations are found, the designated special court will be duly informed, they said.
