Bhubaneswar: Somy Ali, in a recent interview with IANS, said that Salman Khan was worse than gangster Lawrence Bishnoi while narrating her traumatic experiences of abuse while in a relationship with the actor for nearly eight years.
When asked “Why Salman remains on good terms with his previous girlfriends like Sangeeta Bijlani and Katrina Kaif but not with her, Somy stated “Because the way Salman treated me, he did not treat anyone else. Sangeeta and Katrina were not half as badly abused by him as I was.”
“However, he abused Aishwarya very badly. I think he had fractured Aishwarya’s shoulder. But I am not sure what he did to Katrina,” said the actor-turned-women rights activist.
Continuing further, she said, “Considering what Salman did to me, I can say that Bishnoi(Lawrence) is better than him.”
Recounting the troubled relationship, she mentioned about an incident when Salman’s household help knocked on the door pleading him to stop hitting her. “I had acute back pain and I was bedridden for a long time. Tabu saw my condition and cried badly but Salman did not come to see him,” she said.
Somy added that she is planning to write a book about it.
She ended her relationship with Salman Khan when he began seeing Aishwarya Rai.
Earlier, she had invited jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently at Sabarmati Central Jail, for a chat through Zoom call. “Trust me this chat is for your own good. Give me your mobile number, it will be a great favour,” she posted on Instagram.
Expressing concern for the actor’s safety following a shooting incident outside his home, she had also condemned the threats he was facing, stemming from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, and had appealed to the Bishnoi community to forgive him for past transgressions, emphasising the need for forgiveness and reconciliation.
