Berhampur: Twin tragedy struck a family at Ataranga village under Aska block in Odisha Ganjam district when a son, performing the tenth-day ritual of his deceased father, collapsed and died on Thursday.

g to sources, Uday Gouda passed away on November 11. His son Rajendra Gouda suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness while performing the traditional tenth-day rituals this morning. He was immediately taken to Aska Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Rajendra was the only earning member of the family and is survived by three minor daughters. “His father had died 10 days ago. While performing the rituals, he died today. He was the only son,” said a villager.
The villagers have urged the administration to extend immediate government assistance to the bereaved household to cope with the crisis.
