Sonu Sood Booked For Disobeying Election Officer’s Directive

Ludhiana: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been booked for violating orders of the Moga subdivisional magistrate-cum-returning officer.

The charge against Sonu was that he went to a polling booth on Sunday during polling, though he is not a voter of Moga constituency.

His sister Malvika Sood is fighting from Moga on a Congress ticket.

“I had directed Sonu Sood to remain in his house because he is not allowed to move in the area as he doesn’t have a vote in Moga constituency. But he violated the direction,” returning officer Satwant Singh said.

Police impounded an SUV in which Sonu was seated outside a polling booth after a poll observer complained that he was influencing voters.

According to station house officer (SHO) Daljeet Singh, a case against Sonu was registered under Section 188 (for disobeying a public servant order) of IPC.

Sonu has not yet commented on the police case.
