Ludhiana: Sonu Sood’s car was confiscated on Sunday from near a polling booth in Punjab’s Moga where the actor’s sister Malvika Sood is contesting the Assembly elections on a Congress ticket.
The charge against Sonu is that he allegedly tried to enter the premises where polling was underway.
Moga district PRO Pradbhdeep Singh said that action will be taken against Sonu.
“Sonu Sood was trying to enter a polling booth. His car was confiscated and he was sent home. Action will be taken against him if he steps out of his house,” Pradbhdeep was quoted as saying by ANI.
Sonu earlier told ANI that illegal money distribution activities were taking places at several polling booths.
“We got to know of threat calls at various booths by opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money was being distributed at some booths. So it’s our duty to go check and ensure fair elections. That’s why we had gone out. Now we’re at home. There should be fair polls,” Sonu said.
