Bhubaneswar: The south-west monsoon entered Odisha on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Briefing the media here, director, Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas said that the monsoon has covered the south Odisha districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, parts of Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and Ganjam.
He said the conditions are favourable for the further advancement of monsoon into some more part of Odisha during next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, the low-pressure area formed over the east-central and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal on Wednesday has moved west-north-west and lay over the west-central and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts. It is likely to move west-north-west during the next 48 hours.
