Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued heavy rainfall warning for one or two places in Odisha.
“The eastern end of the south-east monsoon trough along the foothills of Himalayas with a convergence of strong southerly and south-westerly winds from Bay of Bengal over the northeast and adjoining east India will trigger widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places in Odisha. The rainfall activity under the influence of the monsoon trough will continue for five days till July 2,” the IMD said in a mid-day bulletin.
In view of the increased rainfall activity, the IMD had issued a yellow warning for the following districts.

Heavy rainfall at one or two places in Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Nuapada, Koraput and Balangir.
June 29

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Jharsuguda and Bargarh.

Thunderstorm with lightning at one or two places in Balangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Rayagada.
