Malkangiri: A young IPS officer has dedicated one day of his life for Divyangs, by spending it by living like a a differently-abled person.
The officer, Shalabh Sinha, is the SP of Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on the border with Malkangiri district in Odisha.
On the occasion of International Day of People with Disability, Sinha spent the day living the life of a visually-impaired person and then one with speech and hearing disabilities in phases.
The SP said he took the initiative to feel how a Divyang spent his life and his day-to-day difficulties. Then he shared his experience with others to spread awareness.
On the particular day, Sinha took the help of a white cane to go from one place to another in his office.
“Though people give sympathy and help to the Divyangs, but no one can feel their pain. That is why, I took this step,” the SP said. “Every person should live the life of a Divyang once in their life to feel their pain,” he added.
People have praised the young officer for his noble act.
