Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy on Wednesday imposed restriction on the use of mobile phones and carrying of water bottles in the House.
The Speaker directed the MLAs not to use mobile phone and carry water bottles inside the House.
Sources said the move came after a member was reportedly seen clicking pictures while some other MLAs were talking over phone inside the House.
Taking strong exception to this, the Speaker and asked the MLAs not to indulge in such activities inside the House.
Using mobile phones inside the Assembly is not accepted and hence the legislators have been asked not to use their gadgets.
While drinking water is adequately available within the Assembly complex, it is observed that several legislators carry water bottles to the House.
