Bhubaneswar: Soon after chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday directed the police for strict enforcement of COVID-19 protocols in the state, DGP announced that a special drive in this regard will be launched from Wednesday.
In a letter to district SPs, DCPs, SRP, Cuttack and SRP, Rourkela, Director General of Police Abhay said, “COVID-19 cases are rapidly rising all over the country. Today during video conference, CM has ordered for 10-day special drive for enforcement of COVID safety regulations. Accordingly, a special drive for enforcement of the regulations will be launched from April 7 to 16.”
Special emphasis would be on enforcement of wearing masks and maintaining social distance during the drive. Awareness generation of COVID appropriate measures should go side by side with enforcement, the letter stated.
The DGP also directed the officers to submit their daily report to ADG (L&O) about outcome of the drive.
