Cuttack: While the entire nation joined in paying rich tributes to legendary freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 126th birth anniversary, a host of programmes will be organised in Cuttack on Friday (January 20).
The series of programmes will begin at 6.30 am with Prabhaat Pheri by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel and school children from Orissa High Court to Birth Place of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose followed by a cross country run (7.30 am to 8.30 am) on the same route via Odia Bazaar and cycle rally (9.30 am to 10.30 am) via Zobra on the Ring Road.
A plantation drive of about 1000 plants will be held from 9 am to 12 noon at suitable places near ITBP Camp in Khurda, and at CRPF Group Centre in Bhubaneswar. A blood donation camp will be held at Stewart Science College from 10 am to 11 am.
Later in the evening, there will be a programme to honour the next of kin of Martyrs at Sarla Bhawan at 5 pm followed by a cultural function at 5.30 pm.
Notably, a philately exhibition will be conducted by the Department of Posts and the postage stamp will be released at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Museum.
