Bhubaneswar: A special registration counter was opened at AIIMS here on Sunday to make cashless treatment facilities hassle-free for CGHS beneficiaries.
It will be particularly beneficial for senior citizens (retired pensioner beneficiaries of CGHS) who find it difficult to submit individual reimbursement claims and follow-up approvals, said AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr Ashutosh Biswas, who inaugurated the facility at the OPD foyer.
It’s in compliance with the memorandum of agreement signed between Union Health Ministry and six fully-operational AIIMS (including AIIMS Bhubaneswar) in the country.
CGHS pensioners and other entitled categories of CGHS beneficiaries will now be able to avail state-of-the-art treatment facilities without having to first make payments and then seek reimbursements from CGHS.
This initiative will help save time, reduce paperwork and delays in settlement of individual claims.
CGHS pensioners and other entitled categories of CGHS beneficiaries will be eligible for cashless treatment in OPD, investigations and indoor treatment at AIIMS.
Admission of CGHS beneficiary will be made only on production of valid CGHS Beneficiary ID Card for treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
Medicines prescribed by doctors for OPD treatment or at the time of discharge from AIIMS Bhubaneswar can be collected by the beneficiaries through CGHS.
