New Delhi: The Indian Railways has announced special train services to accommodate the surge of passengers heading to the ICC World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad, featuring India against Australia on Sunday (November 19) at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
The special train service will operate from Delhi and Mumbai to Ahmedabad. The trains will depart on Saturday evening and arrive in Ahmedabad the following morning. With one train leaving from Delhi, three will ply from Mumbai to Ahmedabad.
Seats on the special trains are available at lower rates than the inflated airfares, as all regular train reservations have been filled, and airfares have skyrocketed with prices ranging from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 40,000.
Passengers can secure a sleeper class ticket for Rs 620, a 3AC economy berth for Rs 1,525, a standard 3AC seat for Rs 1,665, and first-class AC accommodation for Rs 3,490.
The return service from Ahmedabad at the end of the match is scheduled to depart at approximately 2:30 am.
