Cuttack: Senior Odia IPS officer and Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Satya Narayan Pradhan on Sunday said that there will be a special unit of women personnel in each NDRF Battalion in the country.
“We had taken up the matter with the Centre with a proposal that there will be at least one special unit of 132 women personnel in each battalion of the NDRF. Accordingly, the Centre has sent a proposal to the BSF, CISF and CRPF to depute women personnel to join the new unit in the NDRF. I hope that these para-military force units will depute the women personnel very soon,” Pradhan told mediapesons during his visit to the Third Battalion of the NDRF at Mundali, on the outskirts of Cuttack.
