Bhubaneswar: The three-day Mukteswar Dance Festival in the city came to end on Saturday with spectacular performance by Odissi dancers of national and international repute.
The evening’s programme started rolling with lighting of the traditional lamp by Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, Minister for Odia Language, Literature & Culture and Tourism; Shreemaye Mishra, Chairperson, OTDC Ltd; Guru Aruna Mohanty, Secretary, Orissa Dance Akademi; Sachin Ramachandra Jadhav, Director, Tourism and Dr. Sangita Gosain, Chief Executive, GKCM Odissi Research Centre.
The first show was the chorus eulogising the glory of Lord Shiva presented by eminent music director Guru Srinibas Satapathy and his group.
It was followed by Odissi danseuse Sonali Mohapatra performing Mangalacharan – Shiva and Abhinaya “Sajani Go Najani Pirati Jaha Kali”. Both performances were choreographed by Durga Charan Ranbir while Sukanta Kumar Kundu rendered the music. Her last item was Pallavi- Raga Saranga choreographed by herself and music composed by Guru Nirmal Kumar Mohapatra.
Sripunya Mohanty and Pratap Barik presented a duet Pallavi- Raga Nagoballi, choreographed by Guru Aruna Mohanty and Abhinaya “Su Mukha Gunakeshi”, choreographed by Guru Aruna Mohanty and music composed by Guru Dhaneswar Swain.
The concluding item of the evening was a group Odissi dance performed by Jyotsnarani Sahoo and Group of Soor Mandir, Cuttack. Their first item was Vandana-Shivamaya, which was followed by Geetabhinay- Rasanuraga and Sudha Nrutya- Keerti Kalabati, choreographed by Guru Jyotsnarani Sahoo and music composed by Guru Swapneswar Chakraborty.
