Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) has decided to put up speed-detecting cameras at important places across the city.
The speed limits for the selected 18 places will be determined and displayed on boards on the road. Speed violators will be fined by the Commissionerate Police along with a photo of the instance of overspeeding, official sources said.
Violators not paying the fine within the stipulated date will be prosecuted.
The places where speed cams will be installed in the 1st phase are Nayapalli, Khandagiri, SBI Chhak, Master Canteen Chhak, Satsang Vihar and Rupali Square, the sources added.
The speed limit on the National Highway is 85 kmph.
