Speeding Electric Bus Hits Bystanders, Kills 6 In Kanpur

Kanpur: An electric bus lost control and ran over bystanders killing at least six people and injuring 12 others in Kanpur on Monday, cops said. The incident took place near the Tat Mill crossroad.

Having lost control, the speeding bus hit many vehicles and bystanders. The bus destroyed three cars and many bikes in the accident. The injured are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Then the bus ran through a traffic booth and halted after hitting a truck. Local police have started an investigation into the matter.

“The bus driver of the bus is on the run, we are looking for him,” Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Kanpur, Pramod Kumar, was quoted as saying by NDTV.
