Bhubaneswar: Irate locals staged a road blockade near Kalinga Stadium in the capital city following the death of a pedestrian in a road accident in the morning hours on Monday .
According to eyewitnesses, a group of persons were on a morning walk when they were hit by a speeding vehicle near Gate No-3 of the Kalinga Stadium killing one person on the spot and injuring two others. The deceased was identified as Dambaru Behera of Behera Sahi in Nayapalli in the city.
Tension ran high in the area as an infuriated mob staged a road blockade disrupting vehicular traffic.
Police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post mortem. The two injured persons were admitted to the Capital Hospital here.
