Jharsuguda: Spice Jet will resume flight services to Hyderabad from Jharsuguda’s Veer Surendra Sai Airport in Odisha in March.

According to the official website of the airline, there will be direct flight connectivity between Jharsuguda and Hyderabad during the evening time from March 26.

The two-hour flight will depart from Jharsuguda airport at 7 pm. There will be three kinds of Spice Jet flights at three different rates:

  1. Spice Saver (Rs 5,769) – This will include 1pc check-in baggage of 15kg
  2. Spice Max (Rs 7,342)- Priority privileges, extra leg-room, complimentary meal and beverage
  3. Spice Flex (Rs 8,447) – No change fee, free preferred seat, free sandwich, and free RT-PCR test

Some reports also suggest that the airline will resume services between Jharsuguda and Hyderabad during day time from January 20 to March 15 and the evening hours thereafter.

Notably, the service was disrupted for a few months following a directive from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation. Spice Jet was providing air connectivity from Jharsuguda to Delhi while Alliance Air was providing flight service from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar and Kolkata.

The Jharsugua Airport has been providing regional connectivity to neighbouring states and commuters to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand have been depending on it. It is among 58 airports across the country, which have been included in the Krishi Udan 2.0 scheme.
