Bhubaneswar: With the Odisha capital slowing turning into a potential COVID-19 hotspot with 18 persons being detected with the infection on a single day, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday appealed to people not to panic.
Stating that these cases have been reported from a contained area of Bhubaneswar with known contacts, he added: “Sincere appeal – please don’t venture out and respect lockdown. Police will take very tough action on violators.”
Naveen further tweeted that there will be zero tolerance for violations of social distancing norms. “Any violation of social distancing will attract criminal action. The concerned shop/market will be sealed. Earnest request to cooperate in our fight against #CoronaVirus,” he added.
