Bhubaneswar: With COVID cases rising constantly for the last few days in Odisha capital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has ramped up testing facilities in the city.
The BMC on Sunday released a list of 26 COVID testing centres opened in Bhubaneswar. It advised the people to go for the test at those centres, if they develop symptoms for the disease.
Besides the Capital Hospital, the testing centres have been opened in 25 urban primary health centres (UPHCs) and urban community health centres (UCHCs) in the city.
While the testing facility will be available at the Capital Hospital from 8 am to 2 pm everyday, other centres will remain open for the test from 9 am to 11.30 am and 5 pm to 7 pm.
Bhubaneswar reported a spike of 25 new COVID cases in the last 4 days. While there were 83 new positive cases on Saturday, it was 70 on Friday, 69 on Thursday and 58 on Wednesday, according to BMC.
Similarly, Odisha on Sunday reported highest single-day spike in positive cases in recent times with 346 persons testing positive for the coronavirus.
Khordha reported the maximum 189 new cases followed by Cuttack (51), Sundargarh (13), Sambalpur (5), Rayagada (5), Bhadrak (4) and Puri (4). The State Pool registered 41 cases.
