Bhubaneswar: Muthiah Muralidharan, the magician of spin bowling, and his teammates called on Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas on Sunday evening.
The CM interacted with players and support staff, and presented them Odisha T-shirts.
“It was a pleasure interacting with the players and management of @llct20. Encouraged them to explore #Odisha’s treasure trove of natural beauty and heritage. Wished the teams all the very best for their upcoming matches,” the CM tweeted and shared some pictures.
Sri Lankan Muralidharan set foot on the Odisha capital earlier in the day to play in the Cuttack leg of the ongoing Legends League Cricket, featuring four teams.
The 50-year-old Muralidharan is part of the Manipal Tigers squad, which will face Bhilwara Kings in the first of three matches at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium on Monday.
Muralidharan captured a staggering 800 wickets in Test cricket and 534 victims in 350 ODIs in a storied career spanning two decades.
