Bhubaneswar: Chairman of Railway Claims Tribunal (RCT) has ordered for special benches to probe the recent train tragedies and settle claims of the victims.
8477 Puri-Haridwar Kalinga Utkal Express had derailed on August 19 and 12225 Azamgarh-Delhi Kaifiyat Express on August 23 in Uttar Pradesh.
The special benches will be held at RCT headquarters in New Delhi and five other places including Bhubaneswar, Ghaziabad, Bhopal, Lucknow and Jaipur from September 11 to September 15.
Official sources said RCT Bhubaneswar will hold the special bench at Odisha Forest Development Corporation Limited in Kharvela Nagar here.
Passengers who sustained injuries or suffered any loss, an agent authorised by the victim on his behalf, guardian of the victim in case of minor or the dependent of the deceased in the above accidents can file the application for compensation with all relevant identity proofs in original like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Ration Card, Family Register, Residential proof and other relevant documents, said an official release.
