Bhubaneswar: The police on Tuesday constituted a special team to probe the alleged misbehaviour by a policeman at Gundich Temple in Puri during ‘Sandhya Darshan’ of the deities on Sunday.
Acting on the direction issued by Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi, a case was registered at Kumbharapada police station. A police team, comprising some women officials, will visit the spot and conduct a thorough investigation into the entire incident, a police officer said.
The move came after the girl, a medical student, narrated the whole incident through a Facebook post. She also met Puri SP and apprised him about it.
As per the allegation brought by the girl, a policeman inappropriately touched her taking advantage of the crowd during Sandhya Darshan of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra at Gundicha Temple on Sunday evening.
