Bhubaneswar: While English is taught from Class III in all government schools in Odisha, the state government has decided to introduce spoken English from Class I this year.
School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash told the media on Saturday that the decision was taken to improve communication skills of children from an early stage.
The minister informed that spoken English will be introduced in 101 schools across 30 districts that have been selected to be developed as centres of excellence.
