Berhampur: Well-known handball player and the PET of De Paul School here, Prem Chandra Sahu succumbed to COVID-19 on Friday, a day before his 60th birthday.
Sahu was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital two days ago. He is survived by his wife who is a government primary school teacher.
“We have lost a renowned sports coach,” said Father Saju Antony, Principal of De Paul School. Hundreds of students of the Silk City have received training under him.
Sahu worked for 30 years in De Paul school and was instrumental in guiding the students who excelled in many district and state events, the principal said.
