Pipili: A girl was stabbed on Wednesday by a jilted lover, leaving her
seriously injured.
The incident took place at Ekchalia village in Pipili area of Puri
district a youth hailing from Gop area in the district attacked the
victim with a knife when she refused to go with him on an outing.
Hearing her cries, some locals rushed to the spot, rescued the girl
and thrashed the youth black and blue. Later, the accused was handed
over to police.
The girl, a student of Pipili College, suffered injuries on her thighs
and was admitted to Balakati Health Centre for treatment.
The matter is under investigation.
