Paradip: A 25-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly biting a Plus II girl student on her cheek at Paradip College in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district in what appears to be the fallout of unrequited love.
The arrested has been identified as Sunil Kumar Sahoo of Pitambarpur within Paradip Lock police limits.
According to sources, the accused was stopped by the gatekeeper when attempted to enter the college premises on a car on Saturday. He then parked his car outside, and rushed towards a group of girls, who were standing on the campus after appearing for their internal class examination. He then slapped the 17-year-old girl and bit her on the cheek. When other students tried to intervene, Sahoo reportedly threatened them and left the campus.
On being informed about the incident, college principal Sasmita Satpathy lodged a complaint with Paradip Model police, which then registered a case and arrested the accused on Sunday.
Investigation is underway to ascertain the reason behind the attack on the college girl.
