Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Monday apprehended senior clerk posted in the BDO office at Kishorenagar in Angul district while allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 as bribe.
The accused, identified as Nityananda Gaigaria, had demanded the illegal gratification from a government employee to antedate his pay. The entire bribe money was recovered from him and seized, a Vigilance release said.
It added that simultaneous searches are on at three locations linked to Gaigaria in Angul district to ascertain whether he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
