SS Rajamouli’s Close Friend Dies By Suicide, Accuses Filmmaker Of Tremendous ‘Torture’ Over ‘Love Triangle’

Hyderabad: Celebrated ‘Baahubali’ filmmaker SS Rajamouli is apparently in legal trouble after a close friend of his, producer Uppalapati Srinivasa Rao, died by suicide and accused him of tremendous torture in the suicide note.

Before taking the drastic step, Uppalapati shot a video and sent it to Mettuguda police station along with a suicide note.

In the video, accessed by Big TV and shared by Mana Stars, Uppalapati, who had been friends with Rajamouli since the 1990s, accused the filmmaker for harassing him over a ‘love triangle.’

“India’s number one director, SS Rajamouli and Rama Rajamouli, are the reason for my suicide. You might think I am doing this for publicity, but this is my final letter. Everyone from MM Keeravaani to Chandrasekhar Yeleti and Hanu Raghavapudi knows how close I have been to Rajamouli for years now. I never thought a woman could come between us,” alleged Uppalapati.

“He asked me to sacrifice my love for her, and while I didn’t agree at first, I did later on. He believed I’d told people about this, and he began torturing me after we got into an argument. We worked together till Yamadonga (2007), but he ruined my life after that. He tortured me so much since he became a big shot. I am 55 years old and have lived a single life,” he continued, asking the police to carry out a lie detector test for unravelling the truth.

Rajamouli and Uppalapati had worked together in the 2007 film ‘Yamadonga’ featuring Jr NTR.

After directing ‘RRR,’ Rajamouli is currently working on an action-drama starring Mahesh Babu.

It is speculated that Priyanka Chopra will be playing the lead actress in the film.
