Stage Set For Bypolls To Odisha’s Balasore Sadar & Tirtol With Cong Announcing Candidates

Bhubaneswar: With by-elections to Tritol and Balasore scheduled for November 3, Congress on Monday announced the names of its candidates for the two assembly constituencies.

According to AICC release, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has approved the candidature of Mamata Kundi from Balasore Sadar and Himanshu Bhusan Mallick from Tritol.

Earlier in the day, BJD president Naveen Patnaik had announced the names of Swarup Kumar Das and Bijay Shankar Das, son of late Bishnu Das, as party candidates for the bypolls to Balasore Sadar and Tirtol constituencies repectively.

On October 11, BJP has declared Manas Kumar Dutta, son of late MLA Madan Mohan Dutta, as its candidate for Balasore Sadar seat, while Rajkishore Behera, who had left the Congress recently, has been fielded in Tirtol assembly segment.
