Cuttack: A 14-year-old girl sustained grievous injuries after being stabbed by an alleged stalker at Manik Ghosh Bazaar in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Monday evening.
The incident took place when the Class X student, a resident of Choudhury Bazaar, was returning home from tuition. She was initially taken to City Hospital with multiple injuries on her head, hand and other parts of the body and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here as her condition deteriorated.
Her uncle told the media that she had her tuition at 5 pm and returned home around 7-8 pm. The accused, he claimed, was a married man with children and used to stalk and harass her.
On being informed, Purighat police reached the spot and launched a probe into the incident.
