Phulbani: Taking note of the throw-to-the-wind attitude of the people amid COVID-19 lockdown, the Odisha Police on Wednesday resorted to a novel method to punish the violators.
According to reports, police in Baliguda town of Kandhamal district detained some youths while they were roaming on their bikes without any urgent work.
These youths were then made to stand on the road with placards, reading, “I am a selfish person. By roaming outside, I may put the society in danger. But I don’t have any regrets”.
“We have decided to punish these violators by humiliating them at public places and hope that they will not violate the guidelines any further,” a police officer said.
